A Thought

What act of the human will can free him from his own temptation? What thought can he muster to break free from the chains of oppression that are so easily locked onto his wrists by himself? What good does it do a man to beg for mercy, only to jump back into the same pit of fire and torment? Human kind is, by nature, self destructive. But perhaps it is well said, that we as Christians, ought not to seek the love of God for us, but to build up our love for Him first and foremost. Many believe God loves them, but they prove this belief to be untrue in their daily lives. Because the Lord does not allow His sons to dwell in sin, but frees them from this sin, however He deems best.

“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, Nor faint when you are reproved by Him; For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, And He scourges every son whom He receives.”

Hebrews 12:5-6
